About this 4 day workshop
This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in the making of sculpture. Whether you have some prior experience or you're a complete beginner there'll be plenty to gain within this enjoyable and informative course.
You will be working with your unique intent, so the materials and methods used are likely to vary from those of other participants during the course, however a suggested process would be as follows;
Develop your concept through discussion and drawing. Clay modelling based on drawings or another reference while focusing on visual language. Make a plaster mould. Make a plaster cast, and de-mould.

Plaster mould making
Plaster casting
Direct plaster modelling
Construction /fabrication
Carving
The workshop is suitable for all levels of experience, and most materials are included in the course fee. Tools are provided.
About the teacher
Damien Lucas began his study of drawing with the late David Wilson in Bathurst in 1997. Wilson then introduced him to master sculptor Tom Bass, which lead to the full time study and practise of sculpture.
He also completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts at National Art School, Sydney, in 2004, and received the Defiance Award for Excellence in Sculpture. He was awarded the “Highly Commended” Prize for the Ingenuity Maquette Show in 2021.
He has shown work in both group & solo exhibitions throughout NSW & his commissions are situated publicly and privately in Longreach QLD, Cootamundra NSW, Mittagong NSW, Sunbury VIC , Orange NSW, Coffs Harbour NSW, and Coopers Shoot NSW.
Damien’s 24 years + experience of teaching is available directly to you and will guide you along your journey in the visual arts!

Your space in class is reserved once full payment has been received. If you cannot attend the course or forgot, unfortunately, your ticket is not refundable. But if you are aware you can't participate in the class, you are welcome to pass your ticket to someone else to take your place! Your spot is not transferrable after the event.
COVID - Our studio is always keeping up to date with Covid safety plans to put your safety first. We are doing our best to keep our small studio sustainable; that's why we are unable to offer refunds. However, if you are unable to attend class due to a Covid -related reason (Feeling unwell, lockdowns), we can give you credit to attend at a later date if we are given 4 days notice. This is to ensure we can pass your spot to someone else.
