Introduction to Sculpture workshop

A$215.00

A 2 day Beginner’s workshop.

About the workshop

If you ever thought about making sculpture, this 2 day course is the perfect introduction!.
Gain skills, you’ll learn some clay modelling skills, and how to make a simple plaster mould and cast, giving you an overview of the basic process of sculpting.

If you’ve ever had an inkling that you’d like to make sculpture, but haven’t found the time or known where to start then this is the perfect course for you!

You will be guided to find an inspiration for your clay modelling project which will quickly get you on your sculpting journey. You’ll develop skills in clay modelling as you learn about proportions, form, and sculptural language. The sculpture will be a relief - such as a wall hanging. You’ll then make a simple plaster mould from the clay model, and then cast it in plaster which may be coloured at a later date.

It’s a great insight to the process of traditional sculpture making! And you’ll have something you’ve created yourself to take home at the end of the weekend!

*Our 2022 Introduction to Sculpture workshop will coincide with the General Sculpture Workshop while you are still able to receive the special introductory price of $200! You may choose any 2 days within the 4 day period, and you’ll benefit from working alongside other students who may be involved with more developed pieces and processes. You’ll also have the option to extend your experience if you’d like more time on your project!
